Implementation and Policy Recommendation to Increase the Effectiveness of Inclusive/Integrated Education Practices in Turkey
 
Tohum Autism Foundation completed the  “Implementation and Policy Recommendation to Increase the Effectiveness of Inclusive/Integrated Education Practices in Turkey Project” collaborationg with Education Reform Initiative (ERI) and with the support of the first and only granting programme Sabancı Foundation Social Development Grant Programme.
 
This Project,  with  the partnership of  Education Reform Initiative (ERI), was targetted not only the children with autism, also targetted all the children with special needs being in  inclusive education programme of formal education  system.
The Project was implemented in pilot schools  to fill the voids  between the laws and practices, to raise awareness of beneficiaries and improve  the existing conditions  for the students with special needs to maintain  the education with of the same ages.
 Despite the fact that  the legal legislation is on the  inclusive education side ,since the substructure of the schools  are not enough , the realization of this implemention can be difficult . Beneath the seminars given to the techers in inclusive education, also the parents were informed by the seminars and festivals organised at schools, the Project was introduced to  public. This Project was implemented on 3 pilot schools and  the efficiency of the Project was evaluated  by an independent company with scientific tools.
 
A Policy recommendation for Turkey  was developed and the report was shared with the public and decision makers.
